Your Organics Bin

Cessnock, Maitland, and Singleton Council now provide residents with a weekly FOGO organics collection for all your food scraps garden clippings. FOGO is short for food organics and garden organics.

Residents should now have received their kitchen caddy and a roll of 150 compostable liners to collect all your food scraps (cooked or raw). Then empty your scraps into your existing large organics bin. If you have not received your caddy contact your local council.

Replacement caddy liner bags will be available at no cost to residents. Distribution points are still being finalised. More information to come.

If you do not have an approved organics bin with the council logos on the front as in the image above, or your bin has not been serviced, click here.  An additional bin is available by contacting your local council.

Your organics are processed into commercial grade compost by ANL that is used in a range of horticultural products used to improve soil quality.

The Solo collection trucks cameras detect and record any incorrect material emptied from the bin, and our education team are out checking bins. They are happy to answer any questions and clear up any confusion about what can go into FOGO.

This all helps to protect the quality of the final product and our soils for a greener future.
