March 2018 marks the first anniversary of your garden organics service!
To celebrate we are releasing a series of short videos that take you on a journey with a local family from their garden to Garden Organics GO bin and back to their garden again – and everything in between!
YOUR ORGANICS SERVICE
In the first of our four part series we meet Angus and his family and find out why the garden organics service was introduced and the benefits for everyone when you choose to put your garden vegetation in the GO bin rather than the garbage bin.
WHAT GOES IN THE GARDEN ORGANICS ‘GO’ BIN?
In our second video we find out what can go in your GO bin and why putting in the wrong items can be a very big problem……
Don’t forget to keep an eye out for Chapter 3 next week ….…..
The Garden Organics bags of compost* seen in the videos are FREE at selected council community events throughout the year compliments of Your Garden Organics. Keep an eye on your local council’s facebook page for upcoming events.
Residents from the Cessnock, Maitland and Singleton council areas are eligible for a free 30L bag of compost made from 100% garden organics at the events with proof of residency. .
* The Garden Organics brand compost used in the videos is not available for purchase or available in retail outlets. ANL’s ‘Greenlife’ product is made from 100% garden organics and available at leading hardware and landscape suppliers
13,000 TONNES IN OUR FIRST YEAR!!
We would like to say a very big thank you to our residents in Cessnock, Maitland and Singleton.
Every time you chose to put your garden organic waste in the garden organics GO bin and not the red general waste bin, you have helped us all achieve this amazing success and helped;
- Extend the life span of our local landfill sites,
- Avoid the creation of green house gases by diverting organic material from landfill,
- Recover garden vegetation for processing into a quality compost used by home gardeners and farmers so we can grow even more!.
NOT ENOUGH ROOM IN YOUR GO BIN?
Additional GO bins are available on request (fees apply). Contact your local council for details.
The maximum weight for all bins is 80kg – this includes your GO bin. If your bin is too heavy you will be required to remove some of the contents and the Solo collection trucks will come back to empty it for you.
